Operation: College Rescue
Help us revive a critical pipeline to our region's workforce
About Our Cause
The former Pittsburgh Technical College in Oakdale, PA was a vital pipeline to our region's workforce since 1946 allowing students from all walks of life an opportunity to enter the workforce in their desired field. Sadly, in 2024 this pipeline was shut and the college shuttered. We are a dedicated group of former staff and faculty who cannot stand to see such a valuable asset to our area become a distant memory and are uniting in an attempt to bring this institution back to life to continue serving our community.
What Made Us Unique
Our philosophy had always been to provide industry specific hands-on education to what we viewed as our number one priority... our students. As a matter of fact, our desire to revive stems directly from the passion we have for helping students. With smaller class sizes we fostered an enviornment where students could connect with their instructors and receive one-on-one support from the first day of walking through the door all the way through job placement. Our campus also had many amenities from on-site living, allowing this college to benefit students both near and far, as well as outdoor pavilions and ball fields as well as firepits to allow students to enjoy much needed work-life balance.
Our Values & Beliefs
We vow to foster an enviornment for students promoting ethics, transparency, respect, and growth as we work to build our students a better tomorrow. It is of our utmost priority to support our students throughout their entire journey, give them the best education and training possible, and walk with them all the way through into getting placed in the workforce. Students are not just a name in our eyes, they are valuable members of our community in which we desire to help grow and make into highly sought after individuals to the workforce. Our top and foremost policy is that a promise made be a promise kept.
We can't do it alone!
We are seeking stratigic partnerships to help us achieve this goal and rebuild something new from something fallen. We invite anyone who wishes to help and contribute to our movement to contact us at... BeAPart@SaveOurCollege.com
